The motive behind establishing Ahlebait Islamic Library/Makatib is to spread
Islamic teachings as per the sayings of the Holy Ahlul Bait (A.S.). and to promote
good understanding between Shiaism and other like minded sects of Islam.
Background
In the Jammu region there are about 60% believers of Islam. Migratory population from
Kashmir belonging to the Shia/Sunni sects of Islam visit Jammu during winters
comprising of employees of the government secretariat who are shifted to the winter
capital of Jammu & Kashmir i.e. Jammu during Darbar Move and apart from this people
belonging to Ladakh region i.e. Leh and Kargil also stay at Jammu for Six winter months.
Our effort is to make religious knowledge available to these migratory population and
the locals as well. Bathindi area of Jammu is the only place in India where believers of
Shiasm and Sunnis live in peace and harmony, so in order to strengthen this bond
between Shias and Sunnis and for providing a common platform for both the sects the
Ahlebait Islamic Library shall prove very beneficial as we have made.
Ahlebait Islamic Library/Makatab Kargil Colony Bathindi Jammu forms the basis of a much
broader and all important mission of religious awakening and Harmony between Shia and Sunnis
of the area.
To make this dream come true a library by the name of Ahlebait Islamic Library/Makatab is
established at Kargil Colony Bathindi Jammu.

Darsgha /library for shia so that some area of Jammu Province is totally ignore. and the wahbiat
is going on they provided free books education to the poor people
This golden chance for us we easily convert the Sunni [Barlvi/ devbandi] Gujjar/
Bakarwal in shia if we non political origination help us Sir at present in our Makatab 35
childeren are read Quran and Deniyat we paying with own pocket to the Molbi and purchasing
of Books etc

A).Introduction.
To make this dream come true a library by the name of Ahlebait Islamic Library/Makatab is
established at Kargil Colony Bathindi Jammu.
Our effort is to make religious knowledge available to these migratory population and the locals
as well. Bathindi area of Jammu is the only place in India where believers of Shiasm and Sunnis
live in peace and harmony, so in order to strengthen this bond between Shias and Sunnis and for
providing a common platform for both the sects the Ahlebait Islamic Library shall prove very
beneficial as we have made.
During my visit in Jammu and Kashmir in 2010, I have gone through the whole region of Jammu
and Kashmir. After visiting several organizations and meetings, I found that girls and women are
left isolated. Majority of female population are left illiterate without even Islamic education. In
fact female population are victims of all kind of political and economical problems. Besides that
I witnessed many female in Kashmir on the street looking for either their father, brother or
husband who have been put in Indian Army Jail for their peaceful protest.
After all my survey I came to conclude that if I will do any Tabligh work, I will start with
educating and empowering women. Thus we started in Srinagar to empower women’s center
Darul Quran al Zahra in Srinagar that is run fully with religious ladies and supported by generous
donors from Toronto. Than we also succeed to start Women Development Scheme were so far
we contributed 160 sewing machines on long term loan basis.
During my visit in Jammu, I came across an active personality Sayed Ijaz Zaidi who was running
Qur’an class and Library for both Shia and Sunni in one small room. Brother Sayed Ijaz has
contacted me and invited me to visit his center. I liked this idea and proposed to go with bigger
location and to include Women’s Islamic education with Tailoring class to attract more to come
and join the program.
Alhamdo Lillah with the help of a Mo’min philanthropist from Toronto we could support the
Ahlul Bayt Islamic Center and Library.
Today by the grace of Almighty Allah, the Ahlul Bayt a.s. and the generous donor, the Center
and library is open 7 days per week. There are 20 girls and boys both Sunni and Shia are learning
Holy Quran recitation and Diniyat according to the Shia faith. And The Library is open for both
Muslims and Hindus who take part regularly. The center is running Tailoring class so far there
are 12 girls and women take part to learn Tailoring at the same time Holy Qur’an and Fiqh.
Since this is the only Shia center in Kargil Colony, the center is also used for also Majalis e
Hussain occasionally. It has been utilised for all Shia purpose.
Insha Allah, in near future we will also start computer class by contributing some computers to
encourage more girls and women who did not get chance to learn recitation of Holy Qur’an and
Diniyat.

in feature we want Navha majlish and to open a jamalul zainaba for girls hostel where poor girls take the
fully denyat/ quran course [moallima] taki girls and women ek achi moallima ban kar jaya one year
course
9. How did you benefit by partnering with Hashim Okera?
without Hashim Okera shaib we did not operate this system
10. What is your monthly expenses?
Nearly about Rs 14000.Indian Rupees. Rent of 3 room apartment, 3 Teachers and small expenses.

janab sa gujaras ha ki ap hmara library makatb ka bara mai jo kuch likha ap esko delete kar da q ki raz roz sun kar mai tag ay gya hu ap ka bhut sukaray ki apna 10 month tak yah center chalaya ha
