Hashim Okera has more than 30 years of experience in Community Works, NGOs, Religious Activities, Human Rights and Democracy. Served as the teacher of Diniyat Madressah in Mogadishu, as Volunteer in Jamat and finally as a Chairman of Education Board of KSI School and Madressah in Mogadishu Somalia from 1972 to 1989.

In 1980s managed to send as many as 20 youths from Mogadishu Jamat to Iran, Nairobi and Arusha for Islamic Studies. Founder Al Muntadhar Social Services and Children’s Care Program in Mogadishu Somalia 1986. That succeeded to build Medical Health Center, Primary School and Vocational Training Center with the 90% help of NASIMCO.

Founder of Al Muntadhar International Relief and Development Foundation 1989 registered the first Shia Ithna Asheri NGO in Canada. Founder of My Canada! Integration Settlement Services, Toronto in 2004 under the principle organization Al Muntadhar International Relief and Development Foundation.

Hashim Okera is currently Somalia representative of World Ahlul Bayt a.s. Assembly - Majma al Jehani Ahlul Bayt.
