Kashmiri American Council

Invites you along with your family & friends
TO JOIN IN A PEACEFUL PROTEST
during the speech of Dr. Manmohand Singh, the Prime Minister of India
to the United Nations General Assembly
TO REMIND THE UNITED NATIONS
TO HONOR HER PELDGES & HELP END GENOCIDE IN KASHMIR

“Once known for its extraordinary beauty, the valley of Kashmir now hosts the biggest, bloodiest and also the most obscure military occupation in the world…In addition to the everyday regime of arbitrary arrests, curfews, raids, and checkpoints enforced by nearly 700,000 Indian soldiers, the valley's 4 million Muslims are exposed to extra-judicial execution, rape and torture…They (protests in Kashmir) indeed have a broader mass base than the Green Movement does in Iran. But no colour-coded revolution is heralded in Kashmir by western commentators.” Pankaj Mishra in Guardian, August 14, 2010
Today’s youth (in Kashmir), unlike their elders do not know what “peace” is. They identify India with army and paramilitary forces. Their worldview is overshadowed by their experience of death, depredation and degradation. They have been robbed of their dignity and humanity. Tapan Bose, August 2010
